At the beginning of 2007 we started to implement an environmental management system within the scope of the ECOPROFIT- Project. In January 2008 the Reinhold Keller GmbH received an award for being a successful Ecoprofit company.
ECOPROFIT, the "ECOlogical
PROject For Integrated Environmental Technology",
is a programme to promote sustainable ecological and economical development. It was started
in 1991 as pilot scheme in the Austrian city of Granz. Since the first implementation in
Germany in 1998 it contains an increasing number of German municipalities and counts
approximately 1.500 participating companies. Ecoprofit is therefore the second largest
environmental management programme in Germany, after Öko-Audit with 4.000
participants.
The core aspects of this project, which is being advised by Arqum, an environmental protection consulting office, are analysing the environmental protection situation of a company, several workshops with the topics: refuse, legal security, purchasing and organisation, staff motivation and the exchange of experiences among the participants.
